Reaching out into the community

TIDAL Surge is the new project arm of TIDAL which is primarily focused on creating and strengthening our links with other groups in the community.

Having successfully secured our funding from DfID, we are now well on our way to getting the programme fully up and running.

Aims

It has always been our ambition to spread our influence widely, to reach an ever expanding audience in and around Leeds, and to involve more and more of our fellow citizens in the campaign against global poverty.

We want to bring the issues of Trade Justice and Debt to everyone. Providing Equal Access for All and therefore diversifying our membership base so as to fully reflect the areas in which we live and work.

Paid and Voluntary work opportunities at TIDAL Surge.

Are you passionate about justice and interested in becoming a part of the solution? Do you have any experience in talking to groups?

We’re looking to create a pool of diverse and dynamic speakers who will bring the issues surrounding Trade Justice and Debt to the community at large. This could be anything from Global Fair Trade to localised Trade, Aid and Debt knowledge on specific countries.

We’re especially looking for people to talk about this year's MAKE POVERTY HISTORY campaign.

We welcome all ideas - so if you feel like getting more involved and want to put your skills to good use, please contact Jacinta Kent (details opposite).

We provide Speakers who can be used as an information resource for other organisations, religious and spiritual groups and local community centres.

With your help, we will be able to meet every request for a speaker or a discussion leader, and we want to reach out and offer to send speakers to more people, in particular to Black and ethnic communities, to members of faith groups other than Christian, to Trade Unionists, and to Women's groups throughout the community.
