Fair Fares

From Leeds Student Bus Campaign: The day of action is BACK! Thank you for your patience and continued support, we have rescheduled for 26th January as our day to show the bus companies what we think of their ‘service’ and take our fight to the streets.

Throughout the day we aim to hit the busiest bus stops, encouraging members of the public to sign our petition and join the campaign against First.

ACTION: Join the day of action!

Join other campaigners as we ask bus users to sign the Make First Fair petition.
There are two shifts to choose from on Wed 26th January:
bus stops outside Parkinson Steps from 8.45 till 11am
bus stops near Tiger Tiger from 4 till 7pm

If you can, please indicate when you are free on the doodle, so that we have an idea of numbers: >http://doodle.com/amcumw5zm8wvx9vf

We cant do it without your help, so if you can spare even ten minutes of your time on the 26th, please do so.

One Week Challenge

From www.lovinleeds.com: As many of you will be aware First Buses have raised the minimum fare for travel on their service again recently from £1.70 to £1.90 for a “Long Hop” on a single trip. This was very poorly advertised, in fact the only location that we could find was actually buried on the First website and not on their fleet of vehicles.

We are calling on the population of the area to support our campaign for a regular service in our community with an honest fare and not just for profit. A customer service – not just a service to the company. Public transport helping people in their day to day lives!

ACTION: Sign the fair fares petition!

Please sign this petition and support the campaign for a better,
more regular and economical service.

The petition has the support of local Councillors Ben Chastney, James Monaghan and John Illingworth, and MPs Rachel Reeves, Greg Mulholland, Hilary Benn, Ed Balls and Stuart Andrew.
